1:41p Roommate needed ASAP for Sept 1 in Brighton!!
Hi Everyone,
I'm really sorry to bother you all, but I need to find a roommate for Sept. 1 and I am DESPERATE!! I am trying to study for the bar exam, and my search for a roommate is driving me to distraction. If I don't find someone in a few weeks my landlord will start searching for my replacement...
I live in a really great 2-bedroom apartment in Brighton. I've been here for 3 years and really want to stay! The rent is $712.50, and the utilities currently run around $180-$200 per person, but I'm planning to cancel the landline phone and try to negotiate on the cable/internet. My landlord is also planning on putting in new windows, which should hopefully improve insulation/reduce heating costs.
I'm posting my really detailed Craigslist ad under the cut. If you're interested, please e-mail me ASAP at melapt444@hotmail.com (and if you know anyone else who may be interested, please send them my way!!). ( Info from my Craigslist Posting )
Thank you!! :)

You may feel inexplicably optimistic today, no matter what's happening in your real life. But this is not about tripping out on dreamy fantasies; it's about using the power of your positive thought to co-create your future instead of just letting current events pull you along. Although you might not have absolute power to change the direction of the tides, you do have the ability now to alter your course by consciously navigating around whatever obstacles appear in your way.

12:46p Street closings for ArtBeat?
Anyone know how I can find out which/when streets will be closed for ArtBeat? I looked on the ArtBeat and Parking Office websites, but couldn't find any info. Obviously Holland and Elm are closed, but it would be nice to know exactly when, and to what extent other streets will be blocked. Thanks!

Hi When it comes to extended kana sounds, I can grasp basic ones like kya that simply have the character for ki then ya but i was just wondering if someone could clear up tenten and maru marks for me. Am i right in summarizing that :
Tenten marks next to ka,ki,ku,ke and ko create a g sound: ga,gi,gu,ge,go Tenten marks next to sa,shi,su,se and so create a z sound: za, ji, zu ,ze ,zo Tenten marks next to ta, te and to create a d sound:da, de, do Tenten marks next to ha,hi,fu,he,ho create a b sound: ba,bi,bu,be,bo And maru marks next to ha,hi,fu,he ho create a p sound: pa,pi,pu,pe,po

11:49a WBCN to shut down in August
From The Pheonix:
Adios, WBCNWBCN-FM, a/k/a the "Rock of Boston," has as storied a history as any Boston radio station. But come August, 'BCN will no longer be a part of Boston's radio landscape. As reported on Phoenix affiliate WFNX this morning. CBS, 'BCN's owner, is moving Mix 98.5 to 104.1, WBCN's frequency, and starting a new, all-sports station--apparently to be dubbed the Sports Hub, and to carry the call letters WBZ-FM--at Mix's spot on the dial. Word is that 'BCN's morning team of Toucher and Rich will do the Sports Hub's morning show when the change is implemented in mid-August, just in time for the Patriots' preseason. (WBCN will, apparently, survive as an Internet station. Any 'BCN listeners excited about that?) This is good news for WFNX, which competes with WBCN for listeners craving alt-rock fare. But it's bad news--or at least depressing news--for Boston radio as a whole. In its earlier years, 'BCN was known, among other things, for unusually varied programming; for championing talented acts that were still in their infancy, but went on to become superstars; and for showcasing major talents like Charles Laquidara and "News Dissector" Danny Schechter. Of course, the cerebral stylings of Laquidera, Schecter et al. have long since yielded to (among other things) Howard Stern, the execrable Opie & Anthony, and Patriots play-by-play. So: one less option for rock fans, and one more entry in Boston's already crowded sports media marketplace. I'm told that WEEI.com's Michael Felger and Comcast SportsNet's Gary Tanguay will be doing afternoon shows on the Sports Hub when the station's up and running. Those are nice gets--and as the Sports Hub competes with powerhouse WEEI-AM, it'll need all the talent it can get. ETA: I am now hearing rumors from people who work in radio that WFNX is changing to a country station in Mid-August. They are/were planning to announce this soon. I don't know if this is true, but the people I talked to believe it to be true and are sending out demos.
